During some days in March 2004 we visited KIDERUL.

We made interviews with students at Kiderul.

Kiderul is open to everyone who needs and wants help to find a job or a way back to school. Seventyfive persons take part in Kiderul, all are between 16 – 25 years of age and all are socalled drop outs of the ordinary school system.

We met with very happy young people. They told us that they had got help to find a practice place, help to solve a lot of problems, help to understand why and how to find a way to a job. They were helped by the teachers and social workers at Kiderul.

There was a staff of seven people at Kiderul.

We did not see many immigrants in Pecs and at Kiderul, but there were some.

We asked how they got to know about Kiderul, and they told us that there is information about Kiderul at schools and there are also advertisements in the city.

It is not difficult to get a place at Kiderul. You fill in an application form and that is it. If you are in need and if you are between 16-25 you will get a place.

The most common practice places are in restaurants as waiters and cooks, and in shops as shop assistents. You stay at each practice place between 4  - 12 months. You work four days a week and most of the young ones work six hours a day.

Here are the wonderful people that made our Hungarian visit soooooo nice !!
